LUZ SERRELI BIOGRAPHY

Luz del Carmen Serreli was born in Cd. Juarez Chih. Mexico in 1979, daughter of a Mexican mother and an Italian father.

From a very young age, she was influenced by art, since her Italian grandmother was an art collector. Luz remembers her grandmother's house, “la Nonna” as if it were a museum, full of antiques and pieces of art. She travel several times to Europe to visit her family.

There she learned about art history, visiting the museums of the main European capitals and soaking up their culture. Thus she began to love art. From an early age,  she knew she wanted to be an architect. It was until high school in Cd. Juarez, when she began taking drawing classes.
At the age of 18, she had the opportunity to enroll in the University of Monterrey, UDEM, where he graduated as an architect in December 2001.

She returned to her taste for visual art in 2016, taking classes in oil, pastel, and charcoal drawing at UTSA, and later taking a watercolor course in Cagliari, Italy. In the summer of 2020, during the pandemic, She was taking online courses at the New York Academy of Art.
In the summer of 2021, she was accepted into the summer program of said academy. SURP. (Summer undergraduate residence program)
She has also taken courses with great masters of contemporary art such as Bernardo Siciliano and Kristy Gordon.
